When I wanted to take the TLT to play, I just looked at the websites for the malls nearest my house to find which ones had play areas.
I searched for a list of malls in the Phoenix area with indoor play areas. The most comprehensive I could find is this one from an AZCentral archive. It's from 2007 so I don't know if it is completely accurate, but it may be a place to start. I copied the full text to the end of this post.

In my constant struggle to find foods the TLT will eat, I take my inspiration from many sources. This dish makes a great breakfast and is inspired by the sticky rice with mango served at my favorite Thai food restaurant, Thai House. I wanted something I could make at home, quickly.
SWEET RICE WITH MANGO 1 Cup Microwavable Instant Rice 1 Cup water 1/4 cup chopped mango (I use the frozen chunks and cut it up into smaller pieces) 1/4 cup coconut milk 2 TB brown sugar splash of vanilla or vanilla flavor Cook the rice with the water according to the instructions. In a bowl mix the coconut milk, sugar, vanilla and mango. Fluff the rice with a fork, mix in everything else. And. . . serve. See, fast and easy. The TLT loves it. I started out feeding her with a spoon but soon she was grabbing it by the tiny little fistfuls and shoving it in her mouth. My life is ruled by the demands of a miniature dictator. She tells me when to eat, when to play and occasionally allows me to sleep. Even in sleep, however, I must be vigilant to the demands of my sovereign. Because she also dictates when I will wake.
In this photo, you can see her announcing that computer time is over and it will now be time for fetching juice and running through the house giggling. It's not easy. Being ruled by the whim of this modern Napoleon. The days are long and the TV is often tedious. (She is also the censor for television viewing and insists on endless viewings of simple, repetitive shows that espouse her views and focus on her interests.) She doesn't speak much, the Tiny Little Tyrant, but clearly demands "uice" (fetch me juice)," twee" (count to three and then chase me) and "Abba" (Put Yo Gabba, Gabba on the television.) The Tiny Little Tyrant rules my life with an iron fist. She has started pushing her limits and learning how far she can go with out ending up in Time-Out or "Ti-out" as she calls it. On the other hand, she has also started singing. She learned to give kisses and is working on "I love you". The greatest accomplishment of the TLT lately, in my humble opinion, is her growing understanding of differentiation. For example, she understands that all women with kids maybe called "Mommy" but I alone have the distinction of being called "Mommy-Me". Yup. My life is ruled by a Tiny Little Tyrant. And I wouldn't change that for anything. |
